It’s also located at the highest altitude (not considering glacier ski resorts).
If you come with a large group and some are not even up for skiing, why not stay in or around Innsbruck? There are at least 13 ski resorts near by, a free ski bus and you can still enjoy the bustling city life as well.
If you prefer a more rural experience, staying in one of Tirol’s charming alpine villages is a great choice. That said: don’t expect a popular place like Sölden, St. Anton or Ischgl to feel very local in winter. Opt for smaller places instead!
